What is Tadalafil?

Tadalafil is the active ingredient in medicines used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men, and in some cases the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (an enlarged prostate). It belongs to a class of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It is the generic equivalent of the originally branded medicine Cialis. It helps men who have difficulty getting or keeping an erection suitable for sexual activity.

How it works

Tadalafil blocks the PDE5 enzyme, allowing cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) to build up and the blood vessels in the penis to relax, which improves blood flow during sexual stimulation.
