Vidalista (Tadalafil): The Strength Range Explained

What Vidalista is
Vidalista is a generic brand of tadalafil, an active ingredient used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Tadalafil belongs to the same family of medicines as sildenafil — the PDE5 inhibitors — but it is known for a notably longer duration of action, which is why it is sometimes nicknamed the "weekend" treatment. As with all medicines in this class, it works alongside sexual arousal rather than creating an effect on its own.
A range of strengths
Vidalista is produced in several different strengths. The reason a single medicine comes in multiple strengths is straightforward: different people need different amounts, and a flexible range lets treatment be tailored to the individual.
Broadly speaking, the available strengths tend to fall into a few groups:
- Lower strengths, which can suit people starting treatment, those who are sensitive to the medicine, or certain daily-use approaches where a small amount is taken regularly.
- Mid-range strengths, which are a common starting point for many people using the medicine as needed.
- Higher strengths, which may be considered for those who do not respond adequately to a lower amount — but only under medical guidance.
We have intentionally not printed specific milligram numbers against these groups, because choosing a strength is a medical decision, not a self-service one.
Why dosing is a job for your doctor
It can be tempting to assume that a higher strength is simply "stronger and better". That is not how it works in practice. The right strength depends on a range of personal factors, including:
- Your general health and age.
- Any heart, liver or kidney conditions.
- Other medicines you take, some of which can interact.
- How well you tolerate and respond to the medicine.
Taking more than is appropriate increases the risk of side effects without necessarily improving the result. For all these reasons, the strength, frequency and timing should be decided with a doctor and confirmed against the patient information leaflet.
Daily use versus as-needed use
One feature that sets tadalafil apart from some other ED treatments is that it can be used in two broad ways: taken only when needed, or taken regularly in a smaller amount so that it is continuously present in the body. Each approach has its own considerations, and which one suits you is again something to discuss with a healthcare professional.
Key safety points
The safety rules for Vidalista are those that apply to all PDE5 inhibitors:
- It must never be combined with nitrate medicines (commonly used for angina and some heart conditions), because together they can cause a severe and dangerous drop in blood pressure.
- It may not be suitable for people with certain cardiovascular conditions.
- Common side effects can include headache, indigestion, back or muscle aches, a blocked nose and flushing.
Because ED can be an early indicator of circulatory problems, a check-up with a doctor is worthwhile before starting any treatment.
